NEW DELHI: With ‘All eyes on Rafah’ gaining traction on social media, the White House on Wednesday said that the US was not turning ‘blind eye’ to Rafah casualties.
When asked “how many charred corpses” it would take for Biden to alter course, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters, “This is not something that we’ve turned a blind eye to.”
Meanwhile, in response to Sunday’s attack, in which 45 people were reported killed as a fire tore through a camp for displaced persons, Kirby stated he had “no policy changes to speak to” and that the incident had “just happened.”
Alia, Priyanka, Kareena and many Bollywood celebrities stand in solidarity with Palestine
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, and Kareena Kapoor Khan are among the well-known Indian celebrities who have shown support for Palestine following the death of forty-five persons in an Israeli bombing on a camp in Rafah.
“All children deserve love. All children deserve safety. All children deserve peace. All children deserve life. And all mothers deserve to be able to give their children those things,” Alia Bhatt posted on Instagram sharing the picture along with the hashtag ‘All eyes on Rafah’.
Earlier this month, Kareena—who was named the national ambassador of Unicef India—shared a photo from a Unicef post that said, “We are all shocked to see the images of burned children and families emerging from bombed tents in Rafah.” It is intolerable that youngsters seeking refuge in improvised tents are reportedly being killed. We have been seeing this tragedy play out for more than seven months, with thousands of children lost or maimed.
Priyanka, Richa and many other celebs, including Sonam Kapoor, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Atlee, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Triptii Dimri, Shilpa Rao, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh, shared a picture going viral on Instagram with words “All Eyes On Rafah” embossed on it.
Several of Israel’s closest allies were among those who expressed their horror at the Israeli strike. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu called the incident a “tragic mishap”.
